About Halvus
Forensic compliance auditing for the modern web.
Modern websites run dozens of third-party tags, chat widgets and AI tools that nobody fully tracks. Halvus opens a site the way a real visitor does and records what it actually does, so teams see the evidence, not a guess.
Who we are
Halvus was founded by people who have worked in the AI space for the last several years, building and shipping AI products. We saw the same gap again and again: rules like the EU AI Act, PECR and the DMCC Act are clear on paper, but nobody could easily see whether a live website actually follows them. Halvus is built to close that gap.
How we audit
- 01
Real browser, first visit
Each scan loads the site in a real browser from London, with no consent given, exactly as a new visitor would.
- 02
Deterministic checks first
Fixed, repeatable rules read the hard evidence: every network request, cookie, header, file and line of policy text. Run the same scan twice and you get the same answer.
- 03
Backed up by AI vision
Where rules alone can't be sure, AI vision reviews screenshots of the page the way a person would. It can only confirm or clear a finding, never invent one.
- 04
No evidence, no finding
Anything we cannot prove is marked not tested, never reported as a breach.
The laws we check against
- UK PECR Regulation 6 & ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3)
- Cookies and trackers that run before a visitor consents.
- UK GDPR & EU GDPR
- Privacy notices, third-party disclosure, retention and data rights.
- EU AI Act Article 50
- Telling people when they talk to an AI chatbot or see AI-made images.
- UK DMCC Act 2024
- Subscription traps, auto-renewal, easy cancellation and drip pricing.
- European Accessibility Act (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Contrast, form labels, alt text and keyboard access.

Common questions
- What is Halvus?
- Halvus is an automated website compliance risk scanner. It loads a site in a real browser, records network requests, cookies and on-page behaviour, and reports privacy, consumer law, accessibility, EU AI Act and security risks with the law behind each finding.
- How is Halvus different from a cookie scanner that reads page source?
- Halvus watches what the browser actually sends. It logs every request before any consent click, then presses 'Reject' to check tracking stops. Anything it cannot observe is marked not tested rather than guessed.
- Who builds Halvus?
- Halvus is built by a team whose founders have worked in the AI space for the last several years, building and shipping AI products. That experience shapes how Halvus detects AI chatbots and AI-generated media only on hard technical proof.
- Does Halvus give legal advice?
- No. Halvus reports risks found, with evidence. It never certifies that a website is compliant.
